Hometown Poster
Objective
To create a poster that is representative of your hometown, using systems of design. This included both illustration and typographic elements.
Logotype Design
Created in Adobe Illustrator, using a grid and basing each letter on a particular set of principles to create a “design system”.

Planning and thumbnail sketches for potential concepts.
Execution: Round 1
Most designers are not successful on their first try, and have to go through many rounds of editing and feedback to make their designs as successful as possible. Here is my FIRST iteration that needed LOTS of work to get to where it ended up.
The Golden Ratio
The golden rectangle is a design ratio that is said to be most visually pleasing to the eye according to design studies. Designing elements to fit within these ratios wherever possible was important to my design system.
